The Adapted PE students at the Learning Center participated in a week long unit covering the five senses.
They were able to walk on a wide variety of surfaces and textures on sensory boards. They experimented with a variety of textures with their hands including, shaving cream, water beads, play doh, sand, cotton balls and feathers.
On smell and taste day, they were able to smell all different kinds of extracts, spices and herbs…and taste them if they were brave enough. They then voted thumbs up or thumbs down on the smell and the taste.
It was a wonderful week of exploring our senses and learning which of the five senses was their strongest.
